About the Project: Recycloop is an AI-powered recycling and reuse platform that simplifies waste sorting, encourages upcycling, and facilitates a circular economy through a marketplace and drop-off station locator.

Deliverables:

  • Chatbot system providing reuse ideas and recycling guidance

  • User interface designs and user flow in Figma

  • Integration of OpenAI API for chatbot interactions

  • Research documentation on user needs and sustainability impact

Step-by-Step Outline:

  1. User Research & Ideation - Conducted surveys and interviews to identify common recycling challenges.

  2. Prototyping - Created wireframes and UI/UX designs in Figma.

  3. AI Integration - Developed chatbot using OpenAI API to provide recycling and reuse suggestions.

  4. Image Recognition - Worked with the team to integrate Google Cloud Vision API for material detection.

  5. User Testing - Gathered feedback through a beta release to refine chatbot responses and user flow.

  6. Business Plan & Competition Submission - Finalized the project for the Alaska Airlines Environmental Innovation Challenge.
